What quality setting should you use for PDF pages?
Higher than you would use for photographs. JPEG spends its bit budget on smooth gradients and struggles with the hard black-on-white edges that dominate document pages, so the artefacts show up as smudging around small type. Keep quality near the top for anything text-heavy that people will actually read, and drop it only for image-heavy pages where file size matters more. If the page is mostly text and diagrams, PDF to PNG avoids the trade-off entirely.
How do you export only certain pages?
Use the pages field, which accepts single numbers, comma-separated lists, ranges, and the keyword last — for example 1,3,5-10,last. Leaving it empty exports every page. This is the fastest route when you need one figure out of a long report: name that page, get exactly one JPG back, and skip the ZIP entirely. Anything outside the document’s real page count is ignored rather than producing a blank image.
Will the exported JPG still contain selectable text?
No. A JPG is a grid of pixels, so the text layer, links, and any form fields in the original are gone the moment the page is rendered — what you get is a picture of the page. That is usually the point, since it makes the content tamper-resistant and easy to paste anywhere. If you need the words back as text rather than as an image, use the PDF to Text converter on the original file instead.
Are my files uploaded when converting PDF to JPG?
No. The PDF is parsed and its pages are drawn to a canvas entirely within this tab, then encoded to JPG in memory. Nothing about the file crosses the network, so exporting a page from a bank statement or a signed agreement does not create a copy on infrastructure you do not control. Close the tab and every trace of the job is gone with it.
